General Dentistry At-Home

One of the most important ways that we help you achieve your perfect smile here in Dacula is to encourage you to give yourself great general dentistry at-home care. In our office, we usually only see you once or twice per year – so what you do every day when you aren’t visiting us has far more importance on the health and appearance of your smile.

Brush Properly for General Dentistry At-Home Care

Brushing properly is a very important skill that everyone has to learn – and sometimes, re-learn. Be sure that you are brushing at least twice per day with an ADA-approved soft bristle brush, and always brush before bedtime so that bacteria cannot build in your mouth while you sleep. Brush your tongue last so that bacteria that fell from your teeth during brushing is removed.

Floss Properly for General Dentistry At-Home Care

A large majority of American adults do not floss their teeth every day, but this action is perhaps even more important for general dentistry than brushing. Be sure that you are flossing between each tooth at least once every day. This ensures the health of both your teeth and your gums, in ways that brushing cannot.

Rinse Properly for General Dentistry At-Home Care

Finally, we do recommend that you rinse your mouth after brushing and flossing, and after eating a meal if you cannot brush at that time. This ensures that any lingering bacteria and particles are washed away. If you are not sure what type of rinse to use, please consult with your dentist in Dacula regarding your specific preventative dentistry needs.
